DID YOU KNOW?
The American Paint Horse
The spotted horse roamed
the range freely by the early 1800s. They were the chosen horse of the Comanche
Indians (considered to be authorities of good horse flesh). The horse’s
names varied from paint, pinto, skewbald, and piebald.
These color
horses of the open range (that we so loving call Paints) are bread for stock-type conformation, intelligence, and willing
attitude making them excellent horse for ranch work, rodeo, trail riding, pleasure riding, showing, or kid friendly.
Jordettes
Silky aka “Jeanie” is also a product of a Sorrel/TOB/OVR Paint Sire Cocoa Lou Warrior and a Quarter Horse Appendix
Dam Air Jordette. On the Dam side the pedigree represents a credible showing
in racing. AIR MARSHALL the Sire to Air Jordette and a Quarter Horse had 35 starts
in racing with 7 wins, 9 second place finishes, and 2 third place finishes with earnings of $20,124.00. Registering a new
track record in 1980.
Patty Bouncer the Grand Dam on the Sire side of Jeannie’s pedigree has a credible
record, as well, in the ring. With a win in every event she represented in, including
Cutting, Reining, Barrel Racing, and Western Pleasure.
The American Quarter Horse
The American Quarter Horse was the first breed
that was developed in this country. It was created to compete in quarter racing. There are three distinct types of quarter horses; bulldog, thoroughbred, and the “intermediate”
type of Quarter Horse. The Double D Horse farm quarter horse breeds are from
the “intermediate” type Quarter Horse, while we do have a resident Quarter Horse who is from the Thoroughbred
type.
The intermediate type of Quarter Horse has a more muscular body than that of the thorough bred quarter horse,
but isn’t as massive as the bulldog. The intermediate possess substantial
amounts of bone, a short back with a deep body. They also have a full neck with
a short head and small ears.
The docile
temperament, soundness of structure, cow sense and speed makes the American Quarter Horse one the most popular breeds of horses. They have become a staple of the rodeo scene and are seen working cattle all across
the country.
The combination what is the prospect for “Reni”
The prospect
that Reni holds for the future is only limited to the imagination of his owner. He
exemplifies the qualities of a winner. Jeannie possesses the intelligence, and
willing attitude that will make an excellent horse for ranch work, rodeo, trail riding, pleasure riding, showing, kid friendly
and the off spring of a winning combination. Hogan possesses the docile temperament, soundness of structure, cow sense and
speed. This is a winning combination! If
